Project Details

The city of Cedar Rapids is rapidly expanding, and with their expansion comes another addition to their airport: a new terminal. The Eastern Iowa Airport, located in Cedar Rapids, had hit their record for most-traveled passengers in 2024, at just over 1.5 million seats filled throughout the year. While few will know our impact at this new terminal, it is worth appreciating that our work will be seen by hundreds of thousands of patrons year-over-year.

The scope of this project was quite extensive, as JC Toland had a hand in practically every finish that was installed inside. From the sheetrocked walls and ceilings, to the exposed metal ceiling decks in the stairwells, the towering colossal wood beams throughout the atrium and above in the ‘oculus,’ to the high-performance coated handrails, to the offices and restrooms and staff-only spaces; JC Toland had a role to play.

If you’re ever flying in/out of the new terminal at EIA, do us a favor and take a look around anything stained or painted–chances are pretty high we had everything to do with it. For all general contractors, architects and engineers–if you’re in need of services similar to what you see below, drop us a line, we’d be happy to connect.
