Project Details
The exterior of a commercial building creates the first impression before anyone enters the space. However, even well-built masonry loses appeal over time. Weather exposure, tuck-pointing, and patch repairs gradually aged the red-brick facade at 2323 Grand, home to Toggle, Inc. Therefore, the property owners chose a full exterior transformation instead of continued repairs. JC Toland Painting proudly brought that vision to life. This commercial exterior painting project converted the dated red brick into a modern gray color scheme. As a result, the building now delivers a clean, cohesive, and updated appearance. In addition, the new finish improves curb appeal and reflects the professionalism of the tenants inside. Projects like this show how proper preparation and coating systems extend the life of aging commercial masonry.
Work began in late summer 2025 and finished in early fall. First, our team pressure washed the entire exterior to remove dirt, debris, and buildup. Next, we completed full masking and protection of surrounding surfaces, including walkways, windows, and landscaping.
After preparation, we applied multiple coats of masonry primer. Because brick is porous, we used spray, back-roll, and cross-hatch methods for full penetration. The surface developed a strong foundation for long-term coating adhesion. We then applied finish coats that delivered the building’s modern gray transformation. The result turned a weathered brick exterior into a uniform, contemporary facade.
Overall, this project highlights JC Toland Painting’s expertise in commercial exterior painting in Iowa. Specifically, we specialize in brick, masonry, and full facade restoration projects. Therefore, property owners across Des Moines and West Des Moines trust our team for durable exterior coating solutions.
