Project Details

The Fareway Headquarters in Johnston, Iowa is a major commercial office development that reflects the continued growth of one of the Midwest’s most recognized grocery brands. Serving as the corporate home for Fareway’s expanding regional operations, this newly constructed facility combines modern office design with durable, high-performance finishes suited for long-term daily use.

JC Toland Painting was proud to serve as the commercial construction contractor on this project, contributing to the interior finish package throughout the building. Our team worked closely with the project partners to deliver consistent, high-quality commercial coatings across a wide range of surfaces and systems.

Scope of work included detailed surface preparation and protection, followed by coatings on multiple ceiling types including exposed ductwork, exposed structural ceiling deck, and MEP systems, as well as finished drywall ceilings. In modern office construction, exposed ceilings are a defining design feature, requiring precise application to maintain a clean and uniform appearance.

Our crews also completed coatings on hollow metal doors and frames using a high-performance system designed for durability in high-traffic commercial environments. Interior wall finishes were applied throughout most spaces, with select areas left at primer stage to accommodate later installation of owner-provided wall graphics and branding elements.

Additional scope included steel stair components, handrails, and perforated guardrail systems, all of which required specialty commercial coatings to match the building’s modern aesthetic. JC Toland Painting also installed vinyl wall coverings (VWC) throughout designated feature areas, supporting interior branding and wayfinding design.

This project highlights our experience with commercial painting services in Johnston, Iowa, as well as our ability to handle complex office construction that combines painting, specialty coatings, and wall covering installation under one coordinated scope.
