Project Details
The City of DSM Skywalk system is one of the city's most heavily utilized public assets, connecting businesses, offices, parking facilities, and public spaces throughout downtown. To help preserve this vital pedestrian network, JC Toland Painting completed extensive surface preparation and coating applications on structural steel and underside surfaces throughout multiple sections of the skywalk system.Spanning from the Neal Smith Federal Building to the 3rd and Court Parking Ramp, the project involved preparing, priming, and painting exposed structural steel and overhead surfaces to improve appearance and provide long-term protection against moisture, corrosion, and everyday wear. Because these areas experience constant public use and visibility, maintaining a clean, professional finish was an important component of the work.
Our team utilized high-performance coating systems designed to deliver durability and corrosion resistance in a demanding environment. Careful surface preparation and coating application helped ensure long-lasting results while extending the service life of critical structural components.
Projects like the City of DSM Skywalk demonstrate JC Toland's experience maintaining public infrastructure and high-traffic facilities. Through quality workmanship and specialized coating expertise, we help municipalities protect valuable assets while keeping prominent community spaces looking their best for residents, workers, and visitors alike.
