Project Details
Breckenridge Apartments in Iowa City, Iowa was a large-scale student housing development built to serve students attending the University of Iowa. JC Toland Painting provided interior and exterior commercial painting services throughout the project, helping prepare the facility for occupancy ahead of the academic year.
The project required painting across a variety of residential and common-use spaces, including apartment interiors, corridors, shared amenities, and exterior siding systems. Maintaining consistency across hundreds of surfaces while supporting an active construction schedule required careful coordination, efficient workforce management, and close collaboration with other trades on site.
Student housing developments present unique challenges due to compressed construction timelines and the need to deliver move-in-ready units by a fixed deadline. JC Toland scaled crews as needed throughout the project to maintain production goals while ensuring finish quality remained consistent across all areas of the property.
Durability was also a key consideration. High-traffic corridors, shared spaces, and residential units require coating systems capable of withstanding frequent use and long-term occupancy. Commercial-grade paint systems were selected and applied to provide a clean, modern appearance while supporting long-term performance and maintainability.
The completed Breckenridge Apartments project highlights JC Toland Painting's ability to execute large multi-family and student housing projects, balancing schedule demands, production efficiency, and finish quality to deliver a ready-for-occupancy facility on time and to specification.
