WesleyLife's The Village in Indianola, Iowa, has provided older adults with a community focused on independence, wellness, and meaningful connections. Now, The Village is expanding to offer additional living options and upgraded amenities, including 28 new independent living apartments, 28 townhomes, enhanced dining and wellness spaces, and improvements to existing facilities.
JC Toland Painting is contributing to this expansion with a wide range of construction and finishing services, including metal stud framing, drywall, acoustical ceiling tiles, commercial painting, vinyl wall coverings, and more.
Our framing scope includes heavy-gauge and light-gauge metal stud framing for walls, ceilings, soffits, bulkheads, and parapets. Crews are also responsible for installing cold-formed metal trusses, reinforcing existing roof framing, and completing rough carpentry work such as fire-retardant-treated (FRT) blocking and exterior sheathing.
Throughout the facility, our team is installing thermal and sound insulation, vapor barriers, and firestopping at designated rated walls. These components contribute to the building's energy efficiency, sound control, and fire protection. Our drywall scope includes several gypsum board systems, with Level 4 and Level 5 finishes depending on the surface requirements, along with the installation of acoustical ceiling tile and panels.
As the project progresses, our crews are also responsible for extensive interior painting and decorative finishes throughout residential units and common areas. This includes painting walls, ceilings, doors, frames, stair components, and wood wainscoting, as well as staining wood trim and installing vinyl wallcoverings. Additional work includes fiberglass-reinforced paneling (FRP), hollow metal door frames, and exterior painting of railings and bollards.
One of the unique aspects of this project is the variety of spaces and finish requirements involved. From private residences to shared gathering areas, each portion of the facility requires different materials and installation methods to support both functionality and the overall appearance of the community.
