Are you a building owner that is tired of your old red-brick facade? There comes a point on all older brick buildings where too many tuck-point repairs have been completed to where it becomes hard to appreciate the original flawless craftsmanship that once was. The owners of this commercial suite complex decided it was time for a change, and JC Toland answered the call; transforming this red-brick exterior to a clean grey-tone scheme.Starting in the late Summer of 2025 and finishing just a couple months later in early Fall, JC Toland kicked off this job as we do most exterior projects–by cleaning. Our team pressure washed the entire exterior to rid the building of the old sediment its been living with for years. We then masked off all the areas that we were not going to address, to ensure we didn’t leave any overspray or miss a single drip on the owner’s parking lots. From there came the priming. Multiple days went into priming-alone, back-rolling and cross-hatching our sprayer to ensure that the product we applied was saturated well into all the pores of the old brick to ensure we had a strong base coat for our top coat to bond to. The rest, as you can see, was all in the finish coats.
