Project Details
Webster City, Iowa recently completed a major revitalization of its community pool, with JC Toland Painting helping restore the facility. The centerpiece, a large red waterslide with a walk-up staircase, required full repair and refinishing to improve safety and appearance for the community. The project began with careful disassembly of the slide system. Next, our team cleaned each component and evaluated areas needing repair. We then sandblasted the steel staircase to remove old coatings, rust, and surface contamination. As a result, we could properly assess structural conditions and prepare all surfaces for coating.
After preparation, we applied substrate-specific primers to each material. For metal components, we used a high-performance primer designed for adhesion and corrosion resistance. For fiberglass sections, we applied a compatible primer to ensure proper bonding. Once primed, we coated all surfaces with a high-bond exterior epoxy topcoat built for heavy recreational use. In addition, we added a UV-resistant polyurethane finish to preserve color and reduce fading.
After curing, our team reassembled the slide and staircase system. We installed new gasketing and stainless-steel fasteners to improve durability and safety. Finally, we inspected all joints, connections, and surfaces to confirm proper function.
The Webster City Pool project highlights JC Toland Painting’s expertise in specialty coatings and municipal restoration in Iowa. We handle sandblasting, surface preparation, industrial coatings, and structural reassembly.
This project now stands as a safe, vibrant community feature for Webster City residents to enjoy!
