The Nest in Iowa City, Iowa is a large-scale student and multifamily housing development designed for modern living, functionality, and durability. This multi-building project required close coordination across several trades, and JC Toland Painting was proud to contribute to its interior construction and finishes.JC Toland Painting performed metal stud framing, drywall installation and finishing, and commercial painting throughout the project. Because of this integrated scope, our team managed a significant portion of the interior build. As framing progressed floor by floor, our drywall crews followed with hanging, finishing, and sanding. Once each area passed our quality control, our painting crews applied finishes to maintain a consistent construction schedule and high-quality result.
In total, our team framed, finished, and painted 182 bedrooms across 101 residential units. In addition, we completed doors, door frames, stairwells, and shared corridor spaces. Each area required careful preparation and consistent application to meet the demands of daily residential use. Durability and uniformity remained a top priority for us across all finishes.
While our scope focused on interiors, the scale of the exterior highlights the size of the overall development. However, our contribution ensured the interior spaces aligned with modern student housing expectations for appearance and performance.
