Project Details
Ames High School in Ames, Iowa represents one of the largest and most significant coatings projects in JC Toland Painting's history. Over the course of nearly two years, our team provided comprehensive interior coating services throughout the facility, delivering consistent, high-quality finishes across classrooms, hallways, offices, common areas, athletic spaces, and support areas. The project encompassed virtually every interior surface, including drywall, concrete, ceilings, and structural steel. Work began with thorough surface preparation, including sanding, patching, and minor repairs to ensure proper substrate conditions and long-term coating performance.
Following preparation, JC Toland applied high-performance primer and finish coat systems tailored to the demands of an educational environment. Coating selections were designed to withstand heavy foot traffic, routine cleaning, and daily wear while maintaining appearance and durability. Structural elements, exposed ceilings, and architectural features received specialized coatings to enhance both protection and aesthetics.
The facility's Olympic-sized pool area required additional attention, with moisture-resistant coating systems applied to help prevent corrosion and ensure long-term performance in a high-humidity environment.
Coordinating coatings across a project of this scale required careful scheduling, strict quality control, and close collaboration with other trades throughout construction. The completed project demonstrates JC Toland Painting's ability to execute large-scale commercial and educational facility coatings with precision, consistency, and attention to detail, resulting in a durable and visually polished environment for students, faculty, and staff.
